Project Browser help

Install Project Browser

1. Download the current signed and notarized DMG.
2. Open it and drag Project Browser into Applications.
3. Open Project Browser from Applications.
4. Approve access only to folders containing projects you want it to inspect.

Project Browser requires macOS 13 or later and an installed Codex desktop app. The current version appears beside the app title.

Folder permissions

macOS may ask for access when a Codex project is stored in Documents, Downloads, Desktop, or another protected folder. The permission belongs to the signed Project Browser app. Installing updates with the same bundle identity should preserve prior decisions, although moving or replacing the app manually can cause macOS to ask again.

Missing projects

• Open or create the project in Codex so it appears in Codex's local project history.
• Click Refresh in Project Browser.
• Clear tag, Pinned, Unread, Processing, or Team filters that may hide the project.
• Confirm the project folder still exists and that Project Browser has permission to read it.

Join a Team

1. Ask a Team owner or admin for the current Team Key.
2. Open Teams and choose Add or Join Team.
3. Enter your display name and paste the Team Key.
4. Save. Shared Projects appear when at least two Team devices have repositories with matching Git identity.

The Team owner pays for the subscription. Joining with a Team Key does not start another subscription.

Manage or cancel billing

A Team owner or admin can open Teams > Settings > Manage Billing. Stripe's billing portal provides invoices, payment-method updates, and cancellation. Cancellation is scheduled for the end of the current billing period, and Team access continues until then.

Leave or delete a Team

Members can leave a Team from its Team page. Owners must transfer ownership before leaving while other members remain. A sole owner can delete the Team, which removes its Team-server data and cancels an active subscription.

Updates

Project Browser checks for updates at launch, when Refresh is clicked, and every 30 minutes while running. Select New Version to download and install the signed update. The app closes and reopens after installation.

Privacy and security

Review the Privacy Policy for the exact distinction between local project processing, Codex-generated work summaries, and optional Team data. Rotate a Team Key immediately if it is shared with the wrong person.
